The NCSC are aware of scam emails claiming to be from the National Cyber Security Centre, stating
that you have being viewing illegal content online.
If you receive such an email, please do not engage and delete.
The NCSC leads in the management of major cyber security incidents across government and provides guidance and advice to citizens and businesses on major cyber security incidents.
Report an Incident
CSIRT-IE is the body within the NCSC that responds to incidents and as such has a strictly defined list of constituents it serves in regard to incident response. This constituency is made up of organisations from the Irish Government and critical national infrastructure (CNI) providers..

Reporting Cyber Crime
There are cyber-related events which may not be considered as cyber security incidents of national concern but could constitute a cyber crime.:
These might include (but are not limited to):
Instant messenger account or social media account scams;
Scams involving unauthorised use of your accounts;
Cyber bullying
Threats via email, text, or instant message, and;
Online fraud or online extortion
If you are the victim of one of the above or similar, we advise you to contact your local Garda Station to report the potential crime, providing them with all the evidence that you have gathered.
